The Fernakademie aims to remedy the existing shortage of trained housekeepers, butlers and house managers and is aimed at:
persons already working in the household
People who are in the profession of housekeeper or
want to enter the profession of butler / butleress / house manager
all interested private persons who would like to acquire knowledge about housekeeping
Training goal
The distance learning course shows you how to manage a household effectively, routinely and in a time-saving manner. You will learn exactly what is required in a large household: knowledge of the correct handling of exclusive materials and economical housekeeping. With well-trained knowledge, you can be sure of being in charge of an exclusive household.
Content
You will be given extensive basic knowledge of how to organize large households. Get to know the job descriptions of housekeepers and butlers.
You will acquire extensive knowledge of the manners in the workplace, tips and tricks to feel confident in style.
You will learn how to clean and care for high-quality materials and modern cleaning options. Hygiene and pests are also topics you will hear about.
You will acquire extensive knowledge of laundry and cloakroom care and learn how to correctly use the various materials and how to treat stains, as well as tips on ironing laundry.
In the kitchen organization, we make you fit in cutting techniques, in grocery shopping and hygiene, as well as in the breakfast kitchen and knowledge about the refrigerator.

The Fernakademie is intended for interested people from all occupational and age groups who - professionally or because they enjoy the topic - want to deal with it.
No technical or other special requirements are required for successful participation in this academy.
Duration and scope
The distance academy lasts one week with a daily learning and practice time of approx. Two hours. You can shorten the duration of your studies if you have more time.
The teaching material of the five modules consists of a total of around 100 pages, teaching content DIN A4.
Each module is completed with a test. The household organization module is also completed with a submission task (homework), the solutions of which are to be sent in for correction and assessment.
Degree and certificate
If you have completed the test of the last module of your course and have achieved a total of 75% of the maximum number of points, you will receive a certificate for this distance learning course, which serves as proof of performance and advanced training.
The diploma shows your knowledge and proves your ability to work independently and purposefully.

From a cost perspective, distance learning is clearly superior to other forms of continuing education.
