As a housekeeper in an upscale household, you are responsible for various activities that have to be performed alone or with several servants. A housekeeper ensures that her employer's everyday life runs smoothly, she looks after the house and the laundry, takes care of plants, small gardening tasks and other things.

Requirements of a housekeeper

The various tasks have to be divided up over the day and over the week in such a way that the urgent and the important can always be distinguished. All tasks must be carried out with the greatest care and reliability. Personal limits must also be easy to assess. If the housekeeper is asked to do a task which - due to lack of knowledge or skills - cannot be performed, it is very important to acquire the knowledge and skills, or to ask for support for this task. It is better to admit a weakness than to give an unsatisfactory result.

How much a housekeeper earns a month depends on the number of hours. If you work full-time as a housekeeper, the monthly earnings can be around 2,300 to 2,600 euros gross.
